Our national book events team and our store managers work closely with college partners to bring important authors, guest speakers, and events to our campus bookstores. We believe our stores should act as a forum for local and national author tours, book fairs, readings, and unique cross-promotional events.

The Winner's Manual Signing with Coach Jim Tressel at Ohio State attracts over 1000 attendees.

On July 16, The Ohio University Bookstore hosted a book signing for OSU’s renowned football coach, Jim Tressel. More than 1000 people came to the event to listen to Coach Tressel read from his new book The Winners Manual. Following the reading, Coach Tressel signed copies of his book. |

Our bookstore at Texas Christian University proudly hosted Texas Governor Rick Perry in April of this year. And Pennsylvania Congressman Patrick Murphy visited the Wilkes-Kings bookstore in March.
In-store events create excitement for "social" cosmetics brand

Through a full-scale multi-platform marketing plan, Barnes & Noble brings Avon’s mark brand into more than 100 of its college bookstores, serving as the first and only retailer to sell mark. This campus program centers around the themes of social networking, empowerment of women, and entrepreneurialism. Events held this Fall at 30 campus stores across the nation, including DePaul University, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, California State/LA, and the University of Las Vegas, created quite a stir among thousands of female students. They included makeovers, giveaways, and special promotions for mark's makeup, fragrance, and accessory collections. More events and promotions are planned in our stores for Spring 2009. |
